Is Dooce writing a book?

It’s no secret that I heart Heather B Armstrong. So it’s no surprise that the last comment on this photo has me sofa king exciting at the sheer thought.

Say it’s true!!

Sorted

When I’m bridesmaid in 3 weeks, the bride has agreed that I’ll walk into the reception to:

The groom will dress as a policeman and I’ll strip down to my knickers after a few laps.

Thank god the weekend is over

who would think that i’d be looking forward to going back to work? with family staying last night and other social butterfly-ness, i’m relieved that we’ve had dinner, i can just get the washing up done and piss around on facebook until bedtime.

Lemonade scones

Next time I make scones, I’m going with this recipe. Looks shitloads easier and if it’s good enough for the CWA, it’s good enough for me.

1 cup of lemonade 1 cup of cream 3 cups of self-raising flour

Preheat oven to very hot 220C. Add lemonade and cream to flour, mix to form soft dough, then place mixture on floured surface. Knead dough to a 2 cm thickness and cut with a floured cutter. Place close together on tray, brush with whisked egg and bake for 10 – 15 minutes.

I also found this alternative, which might taste betterer purely because of the butter (yum).

750gm self raising flour 250ml full cream 10gm salt 40gm sugar 60gm melted butter 250ml lemonade

Pre-heat your oven to 180 degrees celsius Sift flour, sugar and salt into a bowl and mix. Combine melted butter, lemonade and cream. Add to flour mix. Mix only to combine then place on floured surface. Roll dough to a 2 cm thickness and cut with a floured cutter. Place on tray and brush with egg wash and bake for 10 – 15 minutes. Dust with icing sugar and serve with jam, honey, cream or butter. Hint: only count to ten when kneading the dough, any more will make the scones tough!

WordPress.com rocks

posting from facebook? now THAT’s what I’m talking about.

Running late for work, must dry hair into something respectable

Hump day

The second half of this week can only be better than the first half considering we spent Monday dealing with blocked drains and a bathroom and backyard covered in sewerage and kitty litter pulp.

I’m also addicted to facebook.

It’s rather Xanadu-like, isn’t it?

Tonight I went to Strawberry Snips on Enmore Road and asked for something that resembled this

And I got this

LoveitLoveitLoveit. Thank you, Strawberry Snips, awesomest hairdressers on Enmore Road EVAR!

Facebook-age and such

Also: I can’t believe I’ve been trying to function in a 2.0 world without using firefox extensions for LiveJournal, MySpace, WordPress, Facebook. This is awesome

Bits and pieces

  1. I should be in bed because we didn’t get much sleep last night because it was SOFA KING HOT (no horizontal folk dancing involved
  2. I should also be in bed because I’m v tired after my seeing my beloved Miss Fish (Hi, Anna!) for dinner and shenanigans tonight
  3. I would have been in bed earlier except Her Hotness, Roulla (Hi, Rouls!) was online and she was pining for me and she needed to remind me that Brad Pitt has been hot in more movies than I could remember
  4. ONE OF MY CATS SUCCESSFULLY POOPED AND PEED IN THE LITTER KWITTER. Those who mock me can kindly pass on their apologies, kthnxbai
  5. It’s true, 99% of my friends are having babies (except me)
  6. PS, my cats will be like this one day in the next 1-7 years: u-think-we-share-2-much-nah.jpg
  7. And now, I sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep.

YAY!

Today it’s going to hit 21 degrees. I may have to wear my bikini* to work to celebrate.

* By bikini, I mean, what I usually wear to work, minus the thermal leggings and spencer and scarf and gloves and wool socks. It’s fairly obvious that my body doesn’t deal well with the cold. Why am I going to London at Christmas?!?!?111
