We can’t use our toilet for 24 hours
I think it’s time I learn how to pee against a tree.
How fast do you type?
Not that this is as reliable as TypeQuick, but I don’t care cause I’m happy with my score:
Jay O’Shea – Empty
I’ve been a fan of Jay since her “alternative days” back in Sydney in 1996. Now she’s in Nashville and making it with thigh-slappin’ music. Most of this clip sounds exactly like her demo she’d posted on MySpace last year, but you have to wait until the end, because she reminded me why I love her voice so much:

St Stephen’s
St Stephen’s and the Camperdown Cemetery are landmarks in Newtown, favoured by goths, artists, picnic-ers, dog-walkers and wannabe photographers. It’s been one of those places I’ve been meaning to check out, and we finally did tonight.

The Cemetery closed in 1867 after 16,000+ were buried there. The Church was opened in 1874.

In the late 1940s, the cemetery was reduced to about a quarter of its original size to make way for a public park (story has it that it was because of a gruesome murder of a young’un). A sandstone wall was built around the reduced Cemetery; the bodies are still below the public park. The headstones were moved and nailed to the inside of the wall.

As morbid as it is to walk around a Cemetery like it’s a tourist attraction, with the sun setting and the long shadows, it really was a nice way to spend the time between work and dinner.

How Smart Is Your Right Foot ?
(An email fwd I just got)
Just try this………..
This will boggle your mind and you will keep trying over and over again to see if you can outsmart your right foot, but you can’t. It’s pre-programmed in your brain!!
- While sitting where you are, at your desk, in front of your computer, lift your right foot off the floor and make clockwise circles.
- Now, while doing this, draw the number ’6′ in the air with your right hand.
Your foot will change direction!
Already
I can’t believe it’s been a month since I was in “ghey” Paris:

It feels like a lifetime ago.
Fixed
Last week’s haircut was a disaster. It was a mullet and I did whatever I could to hide the hair – pigtails, big hairbands, you name it:

Tonight I went to Tania, my previous hairdresser, who’s just sold her business and set up shop at home.
It was such a relief to just sit there and know that Tania knew exactly what this other hairdresser screwed up and what needed to be done to fix it.
I also kinda bought a GHD. Hopefully I’ll be able to maintain this new style:

Because interweb users are dumb, apparently
I got one of those email forwards full of interesting facts. Or “facts”, if this one’s anything to go by:

Sydney harbor bridge, Australia ……..16 lanes of car traffic…..8 lanes in the upper floor, 8 in the lower floorÂÂ
Yes, there are 8 lanes of traffic on the Habour Bridge, but can someone please tell me when it suddenly developed a second level? Or are they getting confused with the Harbour tunnel?
I’m patiently waiting for the email that tells me Kangaroos hop around the centre of Sydney.
Off
My worst fear at night is thinking of something work-related that I’ve forgotten/can’t forget to do in the morning/did wrong earlier in the day. It doesn’t happen very often, but when it does it’s horrible.
Why doesn’t my brain stay switched off at home like I expect it to?

Eternal sunshine, but not a spotless mind
We haven’t had a decent day of sunshine for a couple of weeks, so today’s blue sky was VERY WELCOME. It was nice to be able to hang washing outside and let the cats muck around in the fresh air. Bear likes to spy on the outside world from the top of our rollerdoor and Elvis sits where ever, occassionally being entertained by me dangling leaves in front of him.
