Housework! Alert!
I’m not very good at housework (yet another thing I blame on being an ACOA). I listen to friends and colleagues talk about their housework antics and I’m always left feeling incapable of even trying to keep up with them.
I often leave the washing up for “tomorrow”. I did that last night, for instance.
Hello, cockroaches!
Anyways, I’ve been feeling motivated lately and I’ve been doing a bit of spring cleaning as well as being a bit more “regular” housework. The dust storms of this week has heightened the need for… cleanliness.
So today I’ve been frantically working to clear out junk (and donating it to the CPS Op-Shop) and sweeping, vacuuming and mopping all the floors.
It’s a bit of a big deal.
Thankfully, our new security camera captures movement at the back of our place and snapped me MID-HOUSEWORK:

Now, if you excuse me, I need a lie-down…
Obama porn + where’s K-Rudd?
Thanks to the girls who left me some loving on my previous, PMS-infused post.
Nice comments cheer me up :)
There’s nothing like a bit of Obama porn to help the process. Just found this video and love watching how Obama’s smile doesn’t change. But where’s K-Rudd? Isn’t he hanging out with Obama atm?

Send cupcakes
I’ve been sitting here for the last half hour, trying to put what’s going on in my head onto the page.
It isn’t pretty (what’s in my head).
The topics include making decisions about:
- My mother
- Her alcoholism
- My wedding day.
It’s just too hard to put into tangible sentences without sounding like a sooky-lah-lah.
I also keep getting blog-fright because OHMYGOD someone else might read it.
Which is kinda the point, yeah?
My decisions on the those 3 topics are all linked; the butterfly effect that could make or break my brain.
And my brain hurts.
I think I need another session at Al-Anon.
Send cupcakes.

I’ve been nice to you, but now I’m coming to the edge!
Check out this arrogant little kid:
If he was mine, I’d be giving him a good clip around the ears. The attitude!
This is the part where I say “back in my day…”
From today’s news:
The South Australian Metropolitan Fire Service (MFS) says it is worrying that two girls lost last night in a stormwater drain raised the alert on a social networking site rather than ringing 000.
OH. MY. GOD.
What’s happened to our youth when they’d think of Facecrack before, oh you know, calling the emergency number.
:headdesk:
I always thought of 000 as one of those ‘common knowledge’ things in life. Apparently I’m old-fashioned and a fuddy-duddy!
Although, I have to admit that my second thought was “wow, you can get mobile phone reception in a drain?”
Facebook and Twitter are great stalking tools
I know one or two parents who do this already! hehe

The rainbowtatt is BACK!
It’s a long-winded story, but I’m starting to change domains so that I’m not on ones based on my surname.
And I’ve been kicked off the Top 100 Australian Women Bloggers list this month, so now’s as good a time as any, really.
So after much merging of WordPress installations, tweaking, cursing (LOTS of cursing), I think I’m finally moved in.
I even went and recategorised all my posts, including ones that were on this domain before I switched over to LRKane last year. And then I imported my UK holiday posts, too.
Fingers crossed I haven’t stuffed everything up… there are still individual posts that need attention, but that can wait.
Thanks to everyone who linked to me on my old domain; it would be delightful if you would consider updating your linkage :)
Ben Folds 1 and 2
It took me a LONG time to get into Ben Folds’ music. I really only picked up in the last year or so.
Rockin’ the Suburbs is my favourite Ben Folds album.
Ben is one of the few artists that Dan and I both like enough to see in concert together. So when we found out he was coming to the Sydney Opera House we were like giggling school girls. We bought tickets for the first two concerts.
I also love the Way To Normal fake leak album.
The first gig was on Monday night and we had brilliant seats on the side of the stage:
I spent the entire gig wide-eyed and open-mouthed at how amazingly talented he is.
Just, wow.
I have the opening of ‘Zak and Sara’ as my ringtone.
Last night our seats weren’t quite as good, but we enjoyed the front-on perspective:
The setlist was varied enough for us to be just as wide-eyed and open-jawed for the second night in a row.
He told stories about his new album, with lyrics written by Nick Hornby; he sang two songs, Picture Window and Levi Johnston’s Blues, a song about the father of Bristol Palin’s baby.
He was funny, intelligent, humble, thankful, thoughtful AND TOTALLY KICKASS.
We got home last night and bought tickets for his final Sydney show on Sunday night. We have front row in the choir section, meaning we’ll have some of the best seats for a gig featuring a man and a piano.
I. CAN’T. WAIT.
