A post written in a style that @magnetoboldtoo would be proud of*
This week wasn’t especially BAD, but it was full of niggling things that made it MEH. My working week started with my gorgeous rainbow camo Nine West heels ripped a huge hole in my favourite Verily dress.
Then there’s the usual crap that is associated with a crap week in the office, which of course, I won’t talk about here because it’s the right thing to do. (Although, that reminds me, Carly has a fabulous post about the balance between blogging and working).
Some things aren’t so bad; even though my car is still in the shop for another week, I’ve lived the fast life driving Jarod and Liz’s ZOOM ZOOM Mazda (I have such a crush on their car). And I promised myself to make the effort to finally get back to the pool this week and swim laps – which I did – and the 10 laps turned my upper body into a mass of jelly and sore muscles (and I had to deal with two restless night’s of sleep because of it – good job, rah). But it felt good to be in the pool again, in the slow lane but still managing to lap the woman with the kickboard.
Oh! That’s another thing that made me smile this week – I’ve now got two more people in my real life calling me rah! <3
AND I ate at Sapore, my favourite restaurant in Leichhardt, after way too long and they still had my favourite dish (spinach+ricotta ravioli with creamy pesto sauce and pine nuts). I pretty much licked the plate clean.
So really, I haven’t had that bad a week, but I guess exhausting is a better word for it. Today we stayed in our PJs all day, had multiple naps, watched Wayne’s Word and The Muppets (out now on DVD!) and spent some quality time with the cats.
Because we are smug childless people without a car and we’re enjoying it while we can :)
How’s your weekend going so far?

Caturday: cushion tester
Last week, we went furniture shopping. But we didn’t buy any furniture.
We did, however, buy some long-needed cushions for our couch. It’s hard to find good cushions these days. They’re all too firm, too soft, too trendy, too impractical. But last week we found some steel-blue cushions that suited us perfectly.
Little did we know that they perfectly suited the Bear as well. He’s slept on them every day since we brought them home.
Anyone got tips for removing cat hair from cushions?
Last week I dedicated Caturday to Sooz’s cat Gypsy, who wasn’t very well at all. Since last weekend, Gypsy has perked up and is back to her old, annoying self. Hurrah for Gypsy! Cats are tough old buggers when they want to be, so glad that Gypsy’s a fighter Sooz :) x
On Saturdays I post a photo of my cats to celebrate Caturday. Why don’t you join in, too? rainbowtatt’s Caturday is not fussed in any way if any Dogurday, Ferrettday, Fishday or Snakeday participants want to join in :)
Caturday: Kickeroo!
We bought this Kong Kickeroo cat toy for the boys while we were out shopping today… before we could even cut the tags off they were fighting over it and ended up agreeing to snuggle it for nap-time.
Today’s Caturday is dedicated to Sooz’s cat Gypsy, who’s not very well at all. I know I’m not going to cope at all when Elvis and Bear die, so I’m sending all my furry love and purrs to Suze and pray to Ceiling Cat that Gypsy can pull through the weekend xxx

Zomg! Teh biig kitteh lyke catnips!
This is so adorable: “Do big cats like catnip?”
If you see the Jag called Sabre at the 2:45 mark, you’ll see an animal eerily like our Bear. Only bigger.
And more deadly. Apparently.
Caturday: 3 words
The other day, I was chatting to our new neighbour, Claudine.
Amongst chit-chat about the weather, plans for the weekend and how our unpacking is going, Claudine mentioned that she’s noticed Bear around the place.
“The black, handsome one.”
That’s Bear.
“He’s very agile. And fearless.”
That’s Bear.
Agile. Fearless. Handsome.
Claudine’s nailed it.
That’s my Bear. In 3 words.
