Laura’s Life

Preparatory precipitation

Harriet texted me this morning to tell me that it’s been snowing at her house. I’m assuming this is all in preparation for my White Christmas that I’ve requested. Why would mother nature deny me?

In other news, my beloved sister Sandra scored some handy bits of paper for me from her neighbour who works “in the travel biz”, so now I’m reading up on all this new info I’ve scored. I’ve also that I can play Bejeweled on the entertainment system on the plane! YAY!

Oxford to-do list (with flickr pics)

Hogwart’s (Christ Church Uni):

Oxford University Press Museum (Original slips from the first Oxford dictionary in the 1800s):

Oxford Museum of Natural History (also heaps of Alice in Wonderland stuff):

We’ve only got an afternoon in Oxford, so hopefully we’ll manage to fit everything in.

Can we catapult straight to Saturday, and miss Friday altogether?

funny pictures

Also, I think I’m supposed to have a party because Akismet has blocked 5,000 spam comments from this here blog. Not bad for a place that’s here to suit my ego.

I thought you should know

The 10 most bitter female rock songs according to Stephen Handley.

#1 comes as no surprise, really.

One addition that I found you YouTube that proved to be one of my faves at certain difficult intervals with ex-boyfriends:

Next Time by Marie Wilson – ” I’m gonna find somebody new, and it ain’t you”

As promised – crappy photos from last night:

Drinking from the chocolate fountain with straws:

Bouncing along to some metal song I didn’t know (and looking at this, realising I really do have a mullet):

Cockroach torture fetish

In our renter/removable flyscreen in the bedroom window, we’ve (Dan) trapped a giganto cockroach between the 2 layers of mesh. It’s horrible and right in front of my dressing table, meaning I have to look at it while I’m getting ready for work it the morning.

It’s been there for about 2 weeks, and still moves regularly. We’re wondering how long it will survive. Months? Years?

I just realised that I have a history of torturing cockroaches. Perhaps the cockies would prefer to have Elvis or Bear play with them and have them for brunch.

But no hangover

Last night Josh hosted one of his (in)famous parties, complete with bucketloads of alcohol and food.

We drank lots of homemade cocktails. We drank from a chocolate fountain with a straw.  We played co-op Guitar Hero 3 and rocked out like nobody’s business. We stumbled for the entire 20 minute walk home.

There are horrible photos of me, I’m sure. I promise to post any photos that don’t make me look tragic.
