One day to go

Bags are (mostly) packed. I think I’ve got everything organised. I’ve double-double checked my flight time and that I have my passport packed and a spare pair of knickers for the plane.

So now I just hope my ear infection survives the flight and that Singapore make sure I don’t sit next to a snotty 3yo or an oversized passenger.

This whole thing doesn’t feel quite real, I don’t have butterflies or anxiety or anything that I’ve been expecting. Am feeling a bit teary about saying goodbye to my 3 boys in the morning, though.

UK, here I come – WISH ME LUCK!!

Travelling companion

I got Big Ted for my 2nd birthday and was supposed to be a replica of Big Ted from PlaySchool but I’ve always loved him even though I knew he wasn’t a true replica.

Six months before my 21st birthday, my sister kidnapped Big Ted, fixed up his holes, had him restuffed, made him a spiffy vest and took him on holiday. She photographed him on holiday and made a photo album of his adventures, which she gave to me when she returned Big Ted to me on my 21st birthday.

I’ve decided Big Ted will join me on my holiday and see all the sights with me and add to his photo album.

Baggage restrictions

On the weekend I picked up my suitcase for the trip, kindly donated by Cathy’s sister, Jenny. Tonight I popped it open, ready to start chucking in my first round of packing, but Bear has other ideas:

I immediately got teary realising I won’t be seeing my boys (3 if you include Dan) for a month, whereas the most I’ve done to date is just one week. Maybe I can pack Bear at least, so I can smell his fur constantly so I don’t get homesick.

Preparatory precipitation

Harriet texted me this morning to tell me that it’s been snowing at her house. I’m assuming this is all in preparation for my White Christmas that I’ve requested. Why would mother nature deny me?

In other news, my beloved sister Sandra scored some handy bits of paper for me from her neighbour who works “in the travel biz”, so now I’m reading up on all this new info I’ve scored. I’ve also that I can play Bejeweled on the entertainment system on the plane! YAY!

Oxford to-do list (with flickr pics)

Hogwart’s (Christ Church Uni):

Oxford University Press Museum (Original slips from the first Oxford dictionary in the 1800s):

Oxford Museum of Natural History (also heaps of Alice in Wonderland stuff):

We’ve only got an afternoon in Oxford, so hopefully we’ll manage to fit everything in.
