My husband and I combined surnames (yes, it generates a LOT of confusion), legally changing our names. now we are the only ones in the whole wide world. it’s fun to have done something so different but I know our kids are going to have to answer many many questions when they’re older. haha!

So glad I’m not the only non-mom who likes Momversation! This is really a no-brainer for me, as I know that my dads name will continue (he has 3 brothers) and I don’t particularly like my surname (Mattsson) that much. In Sweden names ending with -sson is very common and my fiancées (OMG I have a fiancée!) surname is a bit different and I really like it. The day I get married my name will change to Veronica Rosén.

I changed my last name too – but like you it means the end of my surname as there are no boys to carry it on. That makes me a bit sad, but I didn’t want to go through surname issues with our children – so that was my reason and I’m sticking with it :P

maybe i should just stay out of anything marriagey. I tend to have nothing helpful to say. except that I like your reasoning. Better than some of the reasons I’ve heard
