Sydney Blogger meet, sponsored by Nuffnang
It’s easy to accept an invitation to a blogger event when it’s sponsored by Nuffnang, hosted by the one and only danimezza and involves much nomming of chocolate at the Lindt Cafe in Darling Harbour.
I haven’t been to a meet up thingo in yonks and thought it would be a good warm up to the Australian Bloggers Conference that I’m going to next month. I’m also not that good at the socialising thing…. but this was fun :)
I had some great chats with Carly,  the other Dani, Corinne, Victoria and Hannah. Unfortunately, I didn’t do so well with getting to the other end of the table and missing a sleuth of other bloggers including

We got free noms! I had the Lindt cookie and cream icecream – the bestest version of that flavour I have tasted (and I order that flavour A LOT)

Lindt also supplied us with tasting platters; I was glad the macaroon platter landed in front of us cause I’ve never tried macaroons (GASP!) and these were v noice, though to be honest, I still don’t understand the hype behind them (though, people say that about my beloved cupcakes). I rated the passionfruit macaroon as my favourite, closely followed by rosewater/Turkish delight.

There were lots of cameras and I really really wished I’d brought more than just my mobile…

See the guy holding the giant DSLR? That’s Tony, the manager and the guy who went above and beyond to look after our bubbly group for 4+ hours. He apologised for not wearing the bunny ears that staff wear, “I’m very busy”, he explained.
THEN WE ALL GOT FREE EARS! I was totally going to go into the shop afterwards and buy a set for myself…. saved myself $10, right there! WOO!

Turns out that the fireworks noises  I hear from my place on Saturday nights is the Darling Harbour fireworks show, a regular during peak seasons. And I L.O.V.E fireworks, and I almost always cry during the big finale when you can feel the fireworks popping in your gut. No idea why (and can be v embarrassing).

So even though I’ve spent the 24 hours following the meetup itself in a sugar-induced hangover (and most of the meetup on a sugar-induced high), it was great to break out of my comfort zone and have a chatfest with fellow nerdy girlies :)
(Dani’s photo shamelessly pinched from the FB event page!)
(Don’t I look tall? Stepping on my tippy toes, ftw!)

Aside from the face that I couldn’t have eaten anything there, I WISH I WAS THERE. Oh well, can watch the fun from afar :) Looked like a great night by all account :)
Gee…whos that idiot with their ears on backwards
hehe oh Leigh, that’s great. I thought it was for speed? I have a toy rabbit who had backwards ears. I’m sure it’s for speed.
Not because I didn’t notice they were backwards when you asked if you looked okay
*hides*
Wasn’t that just the BEST night ever. So glad you enjoyed it.
I still wish that I’d pushed through my sugar buzz and moved down to the other end of the table to talk to the rest of the girls… whoops
Hope you got your sushi or yum cha lunch when you got home Dani :)
What a fab group of bloggers to hang out with, I am too jealous. Couldn’t you organise a replay in a few weeks – I fly in a few days before ABC :)

YAY! It was so nice to meet you last night, Laura! :) (AND I got my pizza after the event, woo HOO!)
oh man, i want to eat that cookies and cream thing SO MUCH.
aghhh delicious. why is it only 1040?
it looks like a great meet up! and now i’ve got some new blogs to explore :)
Looks like a lot of fun – I have never tried a macaron either – I must rectify that ASAP.
You need to take me there. And get someone else to pay.
